Course designed for those swimmers who are confident in the pool, already swimming racing open water or completed HOWL level 2 OW Freedom. Whether you are a new to racing, feel for can improve your OW skill or just need to refresh your skills, you will find something that will make you faster or more efficient on this course.
Minimum swim requirement:
Swim 1000m Front crawl (300m nonstop)
Tread water for 60 seconds.
Float on back.
Maximum swimmer to coach ratio: 8-1
This course will be a mix of class room and water based work. We will start in the class room discussing and review the issue that swimmer find during open water racing. We will review the drill for the water based part of the session before hitting the water, check that our suit are not restrictive and fit well.
The water based part of the session will cover: Effective sighting, Smart drafting, Speedy & Safe buoy turns and Strong mass-starts.
By the end of the course you will have the skills to race in the pack, race smart and race fast.
